We stayed in the upper lot for a few days in our camping van during our recent climbing trip and enjoyed breakfast, dinner, and showers there each day. The food was a culinary adventure and facilities were very clean. The staff made us feel very welcomed. Would stay again.

Review is for the parking only!
20€ to park your car (a car, not a big van or a bus) for a day (or should I say half day, as it doesn’t include overnight) is crazy, the prices keep on going up every year. I think a couple of years ago we paid 10€. They are taking advantage of the fact that there aren’t many parking options around and charge what they like.
The location is convenient at the Pass and at the starting point for the hikes, so one star for that.
The guy who collects the money for the parking (cash only!) is dictating how to park, as they are trying to squeeze in as many cars as possible. We arrived early and the parking lot was still empty. When we were leaving, it was rather full.

We were looking for a place to have something to eat, but we arrive too early for dinner. We understood that it was very early and it was okay. The thing is that they treat us very rude and they were trying to scam us for the parking and the toilet. In the toilet, there was a paper that says 50 cents per person and they told us 1€ per person…

We were up in the area planning to hike around Sassolungo. It started to rain so we popped into this hotel for a hot drink and breakfast treat. Delicious linzertorte and friendly service from a woman who was a descendant of the original hotelier founder.

The rifugio was clean and dinner was some of the better food we had as vegetarians in the Dolomites. They even offered fresh fruit at breakfast which we appreciated. The room had a cute little alcove with a table looking out the window to a patio.

The downsides were that one of the beds was somewhat broken so it was uncomfortable to sleep on, and they didn’t have potable water nor did they offer to refill our hiking packs with their filtered water on tap, only leaving the option of 4 euro 1L bottles of water, which gets kind of crazy if you need enough water for a long hike (we walked down to the nicer hotel about 10 mins away in the “town” and they kindly filled us up).

It was also a bit weird that when we paid the city tax at the end, the staff member tried to keep the change. We experienced that kind of behavior in Lake Como but nowhere else in the kind rifugios of the Dolomites.
