Amazing local restaurant to have your lunch right by the main piazza of Gallarate, one of the towns next to Malpensa Airport. Despite the proximity to the airport, this place is surprisingly peaceful and almost devoid of tourists, so you know you're gonna have a good outdoor dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of Milan. Service was excellent and the friendly servers understand English reasonably well. There is plenty of outdoor seating available when they open for lunch.

The main attraction is the €10 meal deal, where you get a first course from the business menu (limited choice, but at this price, you can't complain) with bottled water and coffee all included in the price. This is very good value, considering how pricey pasta dishes can get these days. On top of this, you are presented with a platter of complimentary bread to scarpetta the sauce at the end, but there's no problem having a few as a starter while you wait for your pasta. They will happily bring you a bottle of extra virgin olive oil to go with the bread on request, where you can really taste the quality.

I chose the calamarata (a type of ring pasta) with pesto and grilled tomatoes, which was simple but sublime. The sauce was well distributed across the pasta and each tomato provided a hot ooze of depth to complement the pesto-laden al-dente goodness. They really know how to get the flavours out of just a few fresh ingredients.

Overall, this place provided a very relaxing lunch before I caught my flight back to the UK. To top it all off, they didn't even charge me coperto (I paid exactly €10 for this whole experience), even though I would've happily paid it.

We came here pretty late (after 9:30pm) but good thing the kitchen was still open, and there were many locals inside drinking wine. The server was kind and quickly took our order and gave us a basket of bread. We got the beef tartare and veal cutlet, and both were quite good. The veal cutlet was super crispy and a loooot bigger than I had expected and was twice the size of my hand.

Lovely place for a quick bite and a beer. The salumi and panini where excellent, with very good quality ingredients. The beer, especially the IPA, was also very good. Perfect for outdoor seating when the weather allows it. A special mention has to ba made for the Francesco panino; definitely worth trying!

Overpriced and really bad tasting burgers. It tasted like they had boiled the meat, and the potatoes were undercooked and without flavour. Service matched the food…

Nice atmosphere dining out. Friendly and helpful staffs, lovely dishes and wines
