We started with the fried eggplant with tomato sauce and mozzarella. I'm not a huge fan of eggplant generally but this was delicious; the texture was perfect and worked really well with the cheese and sauce.

For our starters we got the beef ragu and steak with sauteed spinach and roasted green peppers. The ragu was one of the best I've had in a while and the steak was well seasoned and cooked well.

For dessert we shared an amazing cheescake; it was nice and light and the cherry topping was the perfect balance of sweet and sour.

The staff was super friendly, despite me stumbling over my Italian, and the service was quick. The music was also really good and wasn't being played too loudly which I always appreciate.

Overall great experience and I'd definitely recommend it!

A cosy restaurant in one of the backstreets of Alvito. We dined here because we’ve seen many good reviews. The antipasto parmigiana and gazpacho were very good and so were the primi fettuccine and the ravioli, however I’ve only given a 3 rating because we were very disappointed with the tagliata argentino. Maybe it was an off day but the meat was not tender at all, and being the most expensive on the menu we were expecting something better.
The waitress was very polite and did her job well but a smile and a warm welcome would have made the atmosphere more inviting… not even a thank you and hope to see you again soon when we left, instead we had to see ourselves out. These may be minor details but things that you remember.

Fantastic restaurant, outstanding service, Chef came out to meet you at your table and talked you through the menu, explaining the different cuts of meat, lovely, relaxed chilled atmosphere, food and wine outstanding, service was excellent nothing was a problem, would 100% recommend, also great prices, definitely be back

Good morning. My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant, recommended to us by the owner of the farmhouse where we're staying in Alvito. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. The chef, who is also the owner, is very attentive to his customers and goes out of his way to explain the dishes he prepares. Meat is the restaurant's forte. The restaurant is located on a side street in the historic center and is immersed in total tranquility. Definitely worth a try!

During our visit to Alvino, we had the pleasure of lunch at the "Il Leone" restaurant and were extremely satisfied. We were immediately struck by the ambiance: quiet, welcoming, and with pleasant background music that created a very relaxing atmosphere.
As soon as we sat down, we were presented with the menu, but the real highlight was the detailed description of the courses, both the first courses and the meat dishes, directly from the extremely friendly and helpful owner.
We opted for a half portion of fettuccine with cherry tomatoes and asparagus and burrata-filled ravioli. Both pasta dishes were truly delicious, and we greatly appreciated the option of ordering half portions. It's a great idea that allows you to sample multiple specialties without feeling heavy!
For our second course, we enjoyed an eggplant parmigiana, also very good, and a very tender Angus tagliata.
The owner and all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, helping make our experience even more enjoyable.
Without a doubt, "Il Leone" is a place I'd gladly return to. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent cuisine in a peaceful setting with impeccable service.
