Would not come back to this hotel. Most of the staff made us feel that we were inconveniencing them and that they’d prefer an empty hotel. The place is quite rustic for the price- beds/pillows/towels all of poor quality too. Pool location and view was excellent but it is closed most of the day- opens at 11am, closes at 7pm or earlier…
Ahmed was the exception- always pleasant with a smile on his face. Julio, our boat driver was fantastic and he truly made our trip. We loved our boat day! Emma in the restaurant was also very kind and helpful in providing us with sandwiches for our boat day. Mathias at the pool bar was super nice and made awesome drinks.
Giovanni, amongst others in reception, had major attitude and seemed totally off-put by our presence. My husband was asked to leave our room twice to meet with someone at the front desk (once for fresh towels because they didn’t service our room or leave us any waters). This seemed bizarre to both of us as most hotels would come to you rather than making you come to them…
Rooms- this hotel is rustic and needs a refresh. I’d say it compares to a 2 star hotel. My husband and I chose a standard room for our stay and did not receive any of the amenities that came with our families’ suite (complimentary waters, robes, beach bag, and turndown service in the afternoons). We were pretty discouraged that we had booked it for 4 nights… by the end of our stay we couldn’t wait to leave.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. What truly makes this hotel special is the people—the entire team was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely throughout our visit.

We traveled with our three kids and stayed in the Lawrence Suite, which was incredible. It was beautifully appointed, spacious, and gave our family plenty of room to relax. Our children usually aren’t excited about hotels unless there are lots of kid-specific amenities, but they absolutely loved staying here.

The location is simply stunning, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Every morning, breakfast was outstanding, and the staff made us feel so well looked after.

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. If you’re looking for exceptional hospitality, a beautiful setting, and a memorable stay for the whole family, this is the place to be.

Stayed for 11 nights in the Anna Suite. Fabulous rooms with two external terraces; one with a dining table set, sun beds and an umbrella, the other with a hot tub and a private view across a bay and Porto Cervo. Inside we had a separate lounge area and kitchen facilities and a 270 degree view across the bay. The pool area was spacious and quiet with a bar and good sun beds. Location was excellent; 5 minutes up to a local town called Liscia da Vacca with restaurants, pharmacy, ATM and supermarket. A selection of restaurants are a 5 min walk downhill and the Marina and then Porto Cervo itself within 25 mins walk. We never bothered with a taxi until the last night when we’d dressed up a bit! The hotel could do with some redecoration but the people and the service more than make up for it,and the value for the area is immense.

One of the best hotels I stayed at in my life and I've been travelling for 30+ years! It feels like a resort because they treat you so beautifully/personally and there's so much to do. Some days, we didn't even leave the hotel because there was stuff to do there! Amazing food and drink in the pool bar/restaurant. The breakfast keeps you going all day. Great pool, great massages and facials, lovely gym and a wonderful bar inside the hotel with stunning views of Sardinia and the moon at night! They set up the telescope too for you to watch which is such a lovely touch. They also have shisha available for anyone who likes that.

Massive thank you to the following for creating a heavenly experience for me:

Rahhal
Matias
Emma
Carmen
Cherif
Agostino
Luca
Roberto
Chef Ivan
Sylvia (massage therapist/facial beautician)

I travelled with my husband and our 22 year old daughter. We stayed in a huge suite with amazing views. My daughter her own room. This hotel is amazing. Friendly, the staff cannot do enough for you. It’s small enough to feel like home but professional enough to have an amazing holiday. I managed to leave my Thyroid Tablets at home and they went way beyond to help me, finding a chemist and driving me there to get them. Can’t thank them enough.
The pool always had beds available and house keeping amazing. Infact I haven’t got anything negative to say. In house restaurant brilliant and breakfast was always busy but staff fell over themselves to serve us and the chef even made gluten free pancakes for our daughter each morning. We travel a lot and think this hotel is a Gem. Love you Hotel Balocco 😘 ps Sardinia is beautiful and worth a visit.
