A truly wonderful experience! The location is spectacular: a 16th-century deconsecrated church that beautifully combines historic charm with contemporary design.
My boyfriend and I chose the 10-course tasting menu, and every dish was delicious, unique, and had its own distinctive character. We paired the tasting menu with 5 glasses of wine, all excellent and perfectly matched with the dishes.
A special mention also goes to the service: the staff was highly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, while never feeling stiff or boring. They also handled my lactose intolerance perfectly, adapting the menu without compromising the quality of the dishes.
Finally, I had mentioned that it was my boyfriend’s birthday, and they kindly brought out his dessert with a candle for him to blow out. Such a simple but thoughtful touch that made the evening even more special.
A beautifully curated experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!

As a destination wedding planner, I have had the pleasure of working in many beautiful locations, but Coro Restaurant in Orvieto truly stands out as an exceptional venue for an intimate wedding.
The atmosphere is refined, elegant and impeccably curated, creating a warm and sophisticated setting that is absolutely perfect for couples dreaming of a stylish and intimate celebration. Its central location in the heart of Orvieto is an added value, making it easily accessible while still offering a unique and charming experience.
Working with Chef Ronald Bukri has been an absolute pleasure, his talent, creativity and attention to detail are extraordinary, and his cuisine elevates the entire experience to a truly memorable level.
A special mention also goes to Francesco Perali, a wonderful host who embodies professionalism, kindness and genuine hospitality. His care for every guest and every detail makes all the difference and creates a flawless experience from start to finish.
Coro is without a doubt a perfect choice for couples seeking excellence, authenticity and elegance in a unique Italian setting. Highly recommended.

Beautiful atmosphere, professional service and great quality food.

Overall I really enjoyed the dinner, food is cooked perfectly, service is on point and the location is really beautiful.

The reasons why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 are two:

1) length of the meal. Dinner lasted definitely too long. Even if I’m familiar with starred restaurants meals, this one went definitely too far. Waiting time between one dish and another definitely exceeded the reasonable expectations in some cases.

2) choice of spices combination and bitter flavors. I’m aware that this is a personal choice but I didn’t appreciate much the spices combination of a couple of dishes mixing Asians and European flavors. Moreover, the meat dish had extremely bitter vegetable and meat was very difficult to chew.

Besides this, I really enjoyed the dinner with shrimps being my favorite dish by far. Wine pairing was ok.

This is truly an extraordinary place.

To begin with, Orvieto itself is worth the journey for the full experience: its dramatic hilltop setting, breathtaking views, the magnificent Orvieto Cathedral, and the mesmerizing Pozzo di San Patrizio.

Coro doesn’t just complement this experience, it elevates it, and can easily become a destination in its own right.

You walk through the nighttime ancient town, alive with history and mystery, and from the very first steps inside Coro, you feel yourself entering that same atmosphere. Seated at your table, beneath the soaring vaults of a former church, you are surrounded by air, space, and the soft, thoughtful lighting by Davide Groppi. The details are subtle, never intrusive.

The team is exceptional - warm, intelligent, and deeply attentive without ever being overbearing. They are always there at the right moment, guiding and caring, yet giving you the freedom to converse, to create something alive at the table, to be surprised, to drift along your own river of memories.

There is a rare feeling here: a sense of sharing something almost sacred with others, while still having space, autonomy, and intimacy. This balance is incredibly difficult to achieve in restaurants today.

The food was outstanding - from the bread and butter (olive ‘butter’) to the small amuse-bouches, appetizers, and main courses. Yet what stays with you is not any single dish, but the seamlessness of the entire experience.

Our elder daughter is studying architecture, and we were especially curious to visit Coro after it received the Prix Versailles. Getting a table is not easy: knowing we would stop in Orvieto on our way from Milan to Rome, we tried to book a week in advance - understandably, nothing was available. I joined the waiting list, and on the very day we were driving in, we received a call that a table had opened up. A wonderful surprise.
But what followed was even more special.

We truly hope to return, because this experience feels different - in the best possible way. It is for those who value presence, subtlety, the magic of space, and refined taste. There is no pretension here, rather, a sense of humbleness, respect for origins, and for the sacredness of the place. Everything feels remarkably whole.

Atmosphere and service a clear 5 stars. Knowledgeable and attentive staff in a wonderful space. Only comments on the food are a slight over-reliance on smoked ingredients, and a couple of the dishes on the 10 course tasting menu could have been half the portion size and still impressed. Recommend adding either of the signature dishes to the tasting menus - both were exquisite! Thank you Coro team - Hopefully you get a ⭐️ soon!
