6/04/2026: We like this restaurant so much and we went back the night before we leave Matera. We ordered the same things with few extras. Cavatelli “Cardoncelli” mushrooms and “pezzente” sausage was so delicious and fresh. We got the Matera wine again. What a great restaurant with amazing food, friendly staff and epic views.
6/02/2026: The pasta and lasagna were outstanding, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, and we were lucky enough to get a perfect corner spot with fantastic views.

First restaurant I went to when I arrived in Matera for a friend’s wedding, and I was amazed at the food (of course), but the service, the atmosphere, and the fact that we were eating at like 10:30pm 🥹 It was so good we went back 3 times in the span of 4 days! They were super kind that even on the last day, after they had recognized me and my family for our frequent visits, they offered some Lucano as a free farewell - and to help with our digestion lol. Amazing service and would love to come back again and again.

I can’t even remember what I had, but the photos and videos speak for itself:

Aperol Spritz
Spaghetti w/ red & yellow tomato sauce w/ basil
Spaghettone w/ Pistachio Pesto & Tuna Tartare (not pictured)
Gnocchi w/ “Cacciocavallo” Cheese Fondue & Black Truffle
And MORE!

** Call ahead but most times they’ll make the space for you! :)

Amore Crusco is an absolute gem and a must visit if you are in Matera. We started with bread salad, bread balls and a trio of bruschetta and every single one was exceptional — simple ingredients treated with real care and skill, bursting with flavour and clearly made with an enormous amount of pride in local Lucanian traditions.
The wine pairing was spot on throughout — perfectly chosen to complement each dish without ever overpowering the food. You can tell immediately that this is a team that genuinely knows and loves what they do.
But special mention must go to Angela front of house who was simply wonderful. Warm, attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the food and the region. She made the whole experience feel personal and special rather than just another table to turn around. Angela is the kind of host who makes you feel like you've been welcomed into someone's home.
Matera is a stunning city and A More Crusco is the perfect place to experience its food and wine culture at its very best. An unforgettable evening that we will talk about for a long time.
Exceptional in every way. Thank you. 🙏

Highly recommend! Wandered by on a Sunday for lunch. The owner was outside and was so welcoming—answering questions and describing the specials of the day. Pastas are made in house and you can tell. I had the meat lasagna, mixed salad, and local red wine. Everything was delicious and staff were so friendly. Service was great too. There is an upper and lower outdoor patio with umbrellas. I enjoyed the views from the upper patio.

Food:
Food was sensationell, I had the three bruschette and the baked orecchiette- both sensationell. The price was also fair (10€ and 14 or 16, not quite sure). Also, the house wine (obviously Rosso and a primitivo), is incredible.
Service:
Except one waiter, everyone is insanely friendly. But even the not so friendly one does his job good and is kind off authentic and will turn more friendly or nice in his way after a while.
Ambiente:
Outside looks great, I sat inside as it was windy. Nice, authentic, simple - nothing to special. But many wine bottles to look at!
